The BC Centre for Disease Control is pleased to release a new resource to support EH managers and senior leaders, the?Equity in Environmental Public Health Workshop Toolkit.? The Workshop Toolkit is available on the BCCDC website:??http://www.bccdc.ca/health-professionals/professional-resources/health-equity-workshop.? Please share this information with your networks as appropriate.
The?Equity in EPH Workshop Toolkit?is a collection of ready-made and customizable resources that can be used to introduce health equity concepts and frame discussions on how equity relates to environmental health practice. The resources are designed for EHO managers or senior leaders to support program planning and professional development purposes.? The toolkit includes:
- a facilitator’s guide
- three “ready-made” workshop packages
- customizable material for creating a tailored workshop (Powerpoint slides, interactive exercises, handouts, etc)
- evaluation &?follow-up templates
Equity in EPH workshops are intended to compliment other BCCDC resources including the?Handbook of Health Equity in Environmental Public Health Practice?and the recently released?Equity 101 Video Series for Environmental Public Health Professionals. EHOs who participate in an Equity in EPH workshop can receive professional development credits as part of the CIPHI Continuing Professional Competencies Program.
We hope this resource will be useful for environmental health leads and policy makers who wish to integrate equity considerations into frontline practice or program delivery.
